Be Still My......Chicken Heart

Wow. Never thought I'd see the day that my son.....MY son would actually be chowing down on nothing less than chicken hearts. Now don't go getting sicked out that I would actually be the cooker of the culinary "delight". Cause nope. No way, no how would a chicken heart, liver or any of those gizzard-y parts pass through my doorway.

Today the boys and I went to lunch at Tucano's with Jana, Michelle and their boys. There must be something groovy about chomping down on the rubbery nuggets to a little dude, cause Aaron, Drake AND Quinton all kept asking the meat servers for more chicken hearts. I'd say that Aaron probably put away 10 or 15 of the aorta filled meat mounds. Me? Not a one. I think my last chicken heart consumption occured when I was a kiddo and made the mistake of biting a heart in half and looking inside. Let's just say the valves were NOT an appetizing sight.

So now I know for the boy that says that lettuce and olives are DISGUSTING, a chicken heart would make a groovy snack. Gee wouldn't grandma Dahl be proud!

They are so so silly! What a great pic that would have been with all 3 boys munching down on chicken hearts. OK next time one of us brings a camera to all events, just in case! ;)

Nasty! I think Drake ate like 15 of them and when we got home I made him brush his teeth cause the smell was gagging me. Silly little boys.

And this is why a group of males can not be trusted alone. They do things that none of them would do if they were alone.
It freaked me out the time we went there with Q, he is such a picky eater, who would have thought he would even try one of those vile things.

Hey isn't it great to have such fun loving grandsons. I understand the competion was pretty fierce. I don't know how they could possible eat those things, but I think is it funny!
The time we went on Zane's birthday Q had me taste one of his chicken hearts--it was way gross--but more power to my boys

Kristy,

Sounds like you're doing great! That's awesome. I can't believe you're running marathons. I might have to start running again, it's only been 20 years! My body could use it!

After we left Cali we went to Texas for 18 months. I had Meagan there and got pregnant with Sydney. We moved to England and stayed there until June of 2005. Totally the best experiece ever. WE made it back to Italy as well. Awesome! The AF was really good to us. Craig got out and is working at Buckley AFB as a contractor now. We LOVE Colorado! The kids are getting big, Alyssa turned 13 today, Mac is 11, Meagan is 8 and Sydney is 6. They're good kids, love them bunches!

So good to hear from you. I miss the AF life sometimes, but I do love living in a house with any color but white!

TTFN, Jeni

K, now I feel like barfing all over my puter!!! That is wayyyyyy too gross. It's funny what parents feed their kids, LOL, my folks used to feed us sheep's brains when we were babies and lived in Australia, now that my friend is DOUBLE BARF!!!!

OK...I confess....I loved them as a kid! You'll still be my friend, won't you??? I only ate them if they were chicken fried though. I don't like the liver or the gizzards though - that's just plain nasty!! My parents do & they'll both eat ANYTHING!!!
